Registering on NeedANotary
NOTARY REGISTRATION on NEEDANOTARY.COM
Registering on NeedANotary.Com is easy! When you go to the site, www.needanotary.com, make sure you click on the “Are you A Notary?” tab and enter your zip code, name, and email. Be sure to review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, check the box and hit the Submit button.

You will receive an email to continue the Registration process.

When you click on the “here,” you will be taken to the Security page of your profile to change your password.

You are now ready to begin the four required steps to complete the registration process. NOTE: You can do these in any order you wish, but all must be completed to submit quotes on customer requests.
Required Item 1 – Connect a Stripe Account.
Stripe is the system that allows NeedANotary.Com to transfer your payment to you. To quote on customer requests, you need to connect an account to our platform. On NeedANotary, click on “Your Info” and select “Your Profile Info.” To be sent to Stripe to create and connect your account, click on “Connect To Stripe.”

You will be temporarily taken off NeedANotary.Com site and directed to Stripe.Com.
You will need to fill out the information requested and provide your bank account..

Once you complete, you will be redirected back to NeedANotary.Com and will have to log in. Go back to “Your Info” and “Your Profile” to confirm you have successfully connected to Stripe. NOTE: the only information we receive from Stripe is this token id like depicted below. We have no access to your Stripe account. It belongs solely to you.

Required Item 2 – Upload a W9 Form.
On the “Your Profile” page, scroll down to where you see buttons to download, upload, and view the W9. NeedANotary.Com needs to have a W9 on file so that we can submit 1099s to you each January (when you earn $600 or more). You can download and complete the form provided (it’s fillable) or obtain one of your own. Please complete, save, and upload the form. When finished, be sure to click “Save Changes.”

Required Item 3 – Upload a signed Agreement.
You can follow the same instructions as the W9 to download a copy of the Agreement between you, the Notary Public, and NeedANotary.Com. The Form is fillable, and it is ok to type in your name as the signature. Save the form for your files and upload onto NeedANotary.Com.
Required Item 4 – Notary Commission information.
To operate as a Notary Public on NeedANotary.Com, you must provide your commission number, state, bond number, and expiration date. We verify notary commissions before we allow you to provide quotes for notary services. You can provide this information by clicking on “Your Info” and select “My Notary Info.”

These are the Required items to begin the quoting process! Feel free to complete the other items on your profile and upload your picture. We have a browse page where customers can search for you.
NOTE: Our website is nationwide. We do not publicly provide your last name, phone number, or address (other than zip code location). We require you not to provide personal contact information within your public profile (this is in the agreement you signed). We will share your contact information when a customer has booked (and paid for) your service. At that point you and the customer will get each other’s contact information.
